I have the green aftermarket gasket that came in a kit ( not sure of the brand)
Do you uses gasket sealer on the cylinder base gasket?

The green gasket is from Athena; I don't like their products and won't use them. You'll get quite a few opinions, but here's one guy's procedure for the cylinder base. First, I use only Vesrah gaskets, which are Japanese and made to OE spec. If the gasket surfaces on case and cylinder are nice and smooth I either paint the gasket with Gasgacinch or shoot it with Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket. If either surface shows minor dings, I use Permatex Ultra Black sealant. Never had a seep or a creeping gasket, even on a motor with a 10:1 compression ratio.
