First off I am new to this forum and bikes as well. So my clutch cable snapped and I have to replace it. I was going to do it myself... the only questions I have would be... Is there a gasket I will have to replace once I take off the cover the cable is going into. I have done little research, but would like to hear from experience what all is involved. Thanks in advance.

Yep there is a gasket behind that cover. Since the cover doesn't hold back any oil I've seen some bikes that didn't have the gasket, but that is Mickey Mouse because it also protects the alternator/generator. You want a gasket between the engine and that cover.
On the inside of that cover is a helical eccentric which pushes a rod that disengages your clutch. In that eccentric there is a ball bearing that goes between the rod and the hole in the eccentric. Sometimes when you take the cover off that little ball bearing will drop out. So keep an eye out for it as you take the cover off. After you replace the cable you'll have to readjust the clutch by that nut on the cover with a wrench and screwdriver.

Thanks Richard, once again. I'm still new and I have a lot to learn. Bare with me.
