Just started rebuilding my 1977 "D" xs 650. Ive removed the primary side oil filter and pressure relief valve. My question is how do you set the relief valve spring to the correct pressure? Is it just so many turns in, or by measurement. I`m replacing the starter gear as well and on the starter motor gearbox- right above the starter motor oil seal- there is a cable end, this looks like the end of a rev counter cable sticking out from a hole above the seal going into the crankcase. Its not attached to anything in the gearbox and I cannot find any mention of this in the manuals. Any ideas. Thanks chris r
