I bought a set year ago and after I installed them they turned out to be magnetic, which makes me think the one I got were just stainless plated or maybe ferritic stainless steel. The quality of the threads, bends and fit seemed good. I've been running them for over two years now with no complaints. Make sure to lube the threads on stainless stuff because stainless does have a tendency to gall threads under stress.

Thanks Richard, you're the second to comment on quality (I've asked on other forums), both of you seem happy so Jerry Heiden is getting my order, as for galling, I've had to deal with this before, I used to make nuclear waste for a living before going self employed and everything in areas where contamination is a possibility is made of stainless and you can't use lubricants or anti-scuffing compounds because they're sticky, a sodding nightmare when an M56 fine pitch thread picks up! As for magnetism, it's probably caused by the cold drawing process of the wire (increases the Martensite content), try a fridge magnet on you stainless kitchen sink, it'll probably stick where the bends are in the pressing. Cheers Max
