Hi there, I'm building another xs650 chopper and I have come across a Dyna III ignition set up for xs650. It was discontinued by Dynatek in 1982 and they could offer no help as to what color wire go where. Lucky for me I have the 3 wires going to the points matched due to the connectors being a match. Now all that's left is the black earth, a red, orange and gray wire. I see long time member XS Rod runs this set up but my new account won't let me PM him. I'm in hope I can reference another members working set up to get this project done.
I'm also wondering how this set up works with a PMA kit. As I was thinking about doing the conversion on my XSB1. If any one could also give me some advice on adjusting the timing on the Dyna III I'd be a very happy man.

Unlike Boyer and OE TCI systems, your Dyna ignition is set up for dual coil use. Grey wire goes to the right cylinder coil, orange wire to the left. Red goes to switched power, black to ground.

Thank you. I was thinking this was the case.

I still have the box and directions... Milled a little pan out of a hunk of aluminum to mount the module with... I bought this unit back in the 80's but never really liked it mounting with ty-straps. Running dual dyna-coils with it... well mounted them on that XS650 memorial I have under various stages of construction in my garage anyway
