Can warped plates create problems with the kick start? when we put the plates in and put preasure on them the kick start want budge. take the preasure off the plates then it works. We have torn the clutch assembly apart and made sure all was in order. All i can think off is the plates are the problem.

Warped clutch plate can cause a problem with the kick starter but it is usually a problem with the kick starter not working because the clutch is slipping. When you push down on the kick starter the whole clutch basket, hub and all should turn and the engine should crank over at that point. If you pull the clutch in the basket should free of the hub and free wheel when you kick the kick starter. I'm not sure I understand the problem you are having. Are you saying that with the clutch pack assembled the kick starter is locked up and won't turn the engine over? Was the bike previously a running bike?

Engine is not locked up. Yes when the clutch is assembled and bike is in nutral the kick sart will not turn the engine, it's like it's locked up. but take the preasure off the plates then it spins with no problem. The engine is out of the bike. Maybe i should make a short video and post.

It might be the assembly is not right or something not right with your thrust bearing behind your clutch basket. Video would help. to understand what'a goin on.
If you take the spark plugs you should be able to rotate that whole clutch pack assembly assembled or not. Without the disk installed the basket will freewheel around the splined boss/ hub. With the plates installed the whole clutch turns as a unit unless you pull in the clutch in which case the basket spins free from the hub because the plates are slipping as they should. If you are moving the kick starter without the cover on the end of the kick starter shaft could be sloppy in the bushing in the engine and get out of alignment so that the two gears are binding, because they are trying to walkover the top of the teeth on each gear. Careful of that spring on the kick starter it is under tension.
