Hi i am building a bobber using a 1982 Xs650.I will be stripping it to bare minimum no indicators, electric start ect The bike came with no front brake master cylinder or lever and no clutch lever.I do not want to use the standard switch gear/levers and was wondering what you guys use.My Xs has a single disc up front. Also will parts of a 81 model fit the 82 model as i have seen plenty of bits for a 81 model but the 82 bits seem a bit rarer.Because my model had the high custom bars whuich model would i need to get shorter clutch and throttle cables because the ones i have are far to long or is there somone you use to make shorter cables.Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site Step1. OEM cables for the standards were shorter. Or you can get the pieces to make your own from Flanders. On interchangeablity between models most parts will mix and match. With minor changes required sometimes. i.e.: You can change from drum to disc rear brakes by buying the rear wheel, swingarm and adding the mount for the m/c.
