I have not been able to correct the left side form in intermittent spark at the plug. I must be chasing the wrong rabbit. The points, condencer, timing, coils and advance dont' seem to be it. (new stock type coils, new points ect. Swapped out the L plug and wire. Same result.) I was at a swapmeet/race event last weekend and it was suggested that I swap the plug wires and see if the problem switches sides. With dual coils and points I dont see how that will even work.... I'm at a loss. It also looks like weak spark at the plugs to me. Im considering going to a PAMCO system. Thing is I also need to get a PMA bought. Hate to buy both!

Yep, chasing electrical bugs can be frustrating. Weak power to the coil primaries can cause trouble. Unplug the coil on the problem side, and with the keyswitch on, check battery voltage, then check voltage at the power lead for the coil. If you have more than a half volt drop, track back to the kill switch and if necessary the keyswitch until you find what needs to be cleaned up or replaced.
If voltage is good, switch the points-to-coils leads from left to right and then switch the plug caps left to right. If the problem changes sides, it could be a coil, cap, wire, or points. If it doesn't, you may just have a bad plug in the problem cylinder. Sadly, sometimes new stuff is bad right out of the box.

Thanks for your help. Bad connection on the red/white wire. I bit the bullet and installed both the PAMCO ignition and the PMA from Mikes. It has never ran better. I still need to time it. I scribed the marks per the instructions. Marking TDC on the case/fly wheel and 15 degree advanced point. So when I hook up the light do I adjust the timing to fire exactly on TDC?
