This is my first season Riding and I really wish I had started years ago lol. In the process of (trying) to sell my starter bike (95 Suz GS500E). Recently found a '07 Triumph America, it's been a total Garage Queen! ... and I intend to keep it as I got it, aside from some mild assy.s and maybe some exhaust mods.
One of my other interests (for years) is Old VW Beetles, I current have a '71 Std. mostly stock and I've learned that Forums are the best sources for info & ideas.
Once I get my starter bike sold, I would love to find a complete (or as complete as possible lol), reliable riding '75 (or so) XS650. I am really liking the "Bonne" standard look and would love to have a bike I can really tinker with and make my own.
Cheers Everyone!

Hey welcome and good luck on your future acquisition... I'm kinda personal on the 75 as well. We'll be here to help you along with your find.

Welcome, Hoosier. So just when and where did you see that Bonneville with wide tank, obvious overhead cam fixtures, no external pushrod towers and solid-looking switchgear, that made you think of Japanese bikes?

Thanks Guys! I just picked up a complete '75, except for all the engine work (etc) that the previous owner took care of, it's stock and original... It's 1 shaking Beast but runs good and has been reliable so far WooT!
In the Ad pics my first thought was to paint the tank and side covers but, the "custom" paint job looks like it dates back to '75 and has the most perfect Patina... but I did take off the Apes and installed standard bars, I've probably put on 120+ miles so far and getting 45mpg ;D

Seventy Fives are definately cool. Pick up a bottle of Techron to clean the top end and run it through before you change the oil.
