title says 77 rs think the rs stands for roadster from what I can see from other pics it looks like parts off a few bikes. Has mag wheels one disc brake front and back, seat looks like a 77 roadster seat but bars look like a 1980 special ? Maybe they just used what was left over the guy told me it was original but who knows

The VIN# on the steering neck tells the real tale. Does the title # match the steering neck? Could be a '77 title with a different later bike.
I think you may have a 1978 Special which was made in late 1977 for the upcoming model year but at some point was titled in error as a '77 due to the manufacturing date.
You could also have a '77 that someone tried to turn into a Special by substituting Special parts for the standard parts that were on the '77. In this case the frame will easily tell. The standard XS up to '78 used a more upright shock. The Special moved the top of the shock mount forward about two inches to give the frame a more chopper look and lower the heigth slightly.
