This is my current progress on my 82 special cafe project with the finned covers in place. It has to come back apart for porting and the like, but it all seems to fit well so far. Two more covers to make and then on to the carbs and internal stuff. This is just a test fit of the parts to see how it looks and fits. I just fitted the head assembly together without the pistons in place, the rods are held up by foam. The lower oil cover is wrong so I am remaking it with the correct 9 degree hole offset for the 447. I wanted to show one more thing and that was the ring groove on the covers. I originally was going to make them without the ring because it was faster to make, but after talking to XSRod about it he convinced me that the O-ring was a good idea, so I cut the ring groove in it with a about .005 less depth for a tighter fit up on the ring. I tried it and the fit worked well. On the covers making the jigging took longer than milling the covers. I'm not sure I would do it again but I like the results so far.
