Just got a new to me 73 tx. pulling in to work the bolt holding stabalizer bar to hear hub came out and rear brake locked up solid. The rear brake tensioner deal is wrapped around the hub. Does anyone know off hand what size nut that is that i lost? I guess Im just gonna start taking stuff apart and see if I can get the tension off the rear brakes. It had just started raining, Im so glad I didnt drop the bike.

Congrats on your survival--glad that happened at low speed on (mostly) dry pavement! The nut is M6x1.0. The bolt has a transverse hole through it for a hairpin-type safety clip to prevent the nut from backing off; either the clip rusted apart or the PO didn't think it was important. A cotter pin works fine.

Thanks. One of the bolts mounting the ignition cylinder has also backed out and I have lost the little piece of chrome from around the side cover. (Both the first day I got it) The bike hasn't been rode much in the past few years. I guess it was pretty dumb of me to be riding at interstate speeds before checking it out and tightening everything up.
