hello there from houston tx! had a general question about building a xs650 bobber. my brother is looking into buying a unfinished build from someone. my question is this, how hard is it to registar a custom build. the frame is one off and the seller dosent have a title for the motor. should we jump on the deal or not? any input would be greatly appreciated.

Im not for sure, but id say if its the stock front half of the frame and it has the VIN #s are on it, and he has the title for the frame then you should be good. From all the instances ive had with registering a motorcycle they never look at the engine numbers. So i dont know the laws in Tx but in Ks id prolly go for it. Id check out state registration requirements first though.

No title? One off frame? It's a parts bike, pure and simple. You will have enormous problems getting the bike legal.

Htown, laws vary from state to state, but a machine with a valid title always sells more easily and for a better price than one without; if a seller offers a bike without a title, it's usually prudent to conclude that there's a serious headache involved in getting one. There's also the question of how well that one-off frame was designed and fabricated.
