First post!
As title, Ive decided to try my hand at creating sx 650 bobber.
I have alot more research to do, and i have to kit out the garage..
But I figured I would start by saying Hi and asking a couple of questions.
Firstly - is there a particular year or XS 650 model I should be looking for?
Secondly - I notice that my favourite Bobbers have both Front and Rear discs however many have rear drums - is this year specific or a modification to have the disc?
Last question - I gather most bobbers run a 180mm rear tyre but that with the correct hardtail its possible to run a 200mm with no issues?
Cheers fellas
Chris

If you want the rear disc, the easiest way to get it would be to buy a model that came with it stock. That would be a '78-'80 Special. You can adapt those disc parts to most any other year but you'll need to do some fab work and welding (bracket for MC). As I said, easiest just to buy the one with it already installed. The Special is also better for that lower look you probably want. The rear shocks angle forward more than the Standard model so it sits lower in the rear.
