Hi guys, just noticed your site and decided to join in with some XS650 conversation. I have two of the old XS650s, a 1977 XS650D, and a 1981 XS650H Special ll, both stockers and 100% factory original. The 1977D, I show at some of the local bike shows, and have won a couple of first place trophys, the 1981 is my everyday rider along with an 03 Yamaha V-Star 650. I have been riding motorcycles since the late 1950's, and just can't seem to get enough of the old bikes. I have a close friend who rides a 1970 BSA 650 which he restored from the ground up, and when we go riding, I take the old 77D. We plunk around the back roads of Ohio and attract a lot of attention with the old bikes. Sometimes I think it doesn't get much better than that. Congrats on this site, it looks like a good one !! Thanks G man for the welcome, I look forward to being able to contribute something. As you have probably noticed, I'm a dyed in the wool Yamaha man. The quality I expect from a bike always seems to be there in a Yamaha. As far as the site goes, it's days may be numbered, it seems to be dead to the world. Bikerman
