Hei, I was really sure that I could figure it out myself, but I am lost and got a not-charging bike now. I wanna use this diagram, and I got the mike-xs-parts rec-reg combo. But on the diagram there come only 6 wires from the stator and brushes, 3 white, 1 green, 1 black, 1yellow. My bike got one more, another green one, my guess is that is the grounding of the stator, am I right and does it just hook up to ground. But the stator is already grounded, since it is bolted to the engine?! And the blackwire in the diagram, that comes from the stator, which later turns red and brown, does that one goes to the brush that was ground before, but had to be ungrounded now? The sun is shining and I am desperate to get my bike on the road, so any help is appriciated!! It's a 1975.

I did all the tests I could find, it is 5 ohms between the sliprings, .9 between the white cables, brushes are long enough (1cm-3/8 inch), when I put power on the to slip rings the bold in the middle becomes magnetic, I put in the nylon screws. The reg-rec combo is new.... Just one cable too many...

The brushes are short enough to maybe cause problems.

The diagram you show is to wire up the later, 80 up reg/rec to the earlier 70-79 stators. If you got the reg/rec, Mike's item #24-2089 then it wires in like the stock reg/rec. On your stock 75 your Stator-----------Mike's reg/rec 3 whites--------3 yellow Green-----------Orange ----------------Blue------ power after the key switch ----------------Red-------battery + ----------------Green----Battery - Black ------------------------battery - The other wires that come up from the stator are yellow, and blue. The yellow goes to the safety relay, if no starter then cap it off. The blue is for the neutral light. Mount the reg/rec so the body has a good connection to ground. If you got the Mike's item #24-2087, then you will wire it like the diagram you show and need the 3 nylon screws. Which reg/rec did you get?

I got the 24-2089, But if I got the early one should I get rid of the nylon screws or doesn't it matter. Thanks, this has been a headbraker for me.

Yesss !!! It works! At the first try it charged 46! volts, turned out that the redcable had a broken fuse. So I cut out the whole fusething to make sure this won't happen again. Now it's a beautifull 14,4 volts. It's those small things that can make a day!

Please get a fuse in there. if I'm reading right that you removed it. A fuse is the last line of defense from a wiring harness fire.
