I have visited that website along many others and all seem to show that that P/N is no longer available. I wonder if it was replaced by a different P/N or perhaps a damper from another model would fit?
Thank you for your reply and I will check with my local dealer.

- even though i dont like him, and think most of his product is cheaply made, mikesxs has a version of these-or at least his german partner at xs 650 shop kiel, does for '76-'84,...#02-6539

xcafes and pamcopete,
Thank you guys for your help in locating these dampers.
I did look through the site a bit closer last night and found those silly damping rings.
Question: will they fit my '75 tach and speedo housings well or as intended, despite the different year mentioned?

- '75 damping ring part# 371-83523-70-00
- from '76 these damping rings took the part# 584-83513-00 or 3H3-83513-00
- found in RD400F, XS650 76-83, XS750 77-79, XS850 80-81, XS1100 79-81, XV920 81-82, SR500 78-81
- what is/are the physical changes? - inner/outer diameter, height, profile?...
- early rings fitted between the guage and the cups - later models did the same, and slotted into the consol-therefore had extra profile features in the inner faces (if these were turned upside down so the thicker edge is up, they might fit if the guages are the same diameter)...

xcafes,
from what i gather, the only physical changes to the later meter dampers is the absence of the notches on the outer side of the damper. the meter bracket has a few notches that correspond those on the dampers. i do not think that the inner or outer diameter changed but i could be wrong...

i was wrong... the damping rings from '76-'83 will not fit '75...
needless to say, that sucks...

If anyone is parting out a '75 bike and noticed that they have those instrument/meter dampers which are in good condition (not melted or torn, etc), please send me a message. I've had NO luck finding them anywhere.
Many thanks inadvance,

- parts interchangeability www.zedder.com -software will cost 25 dollars- - the part nr comes originally from the TX500, is specific to yamaha and not produced any more...those that have them and are in the know keep them hidden - 74 75 RD250-350 rings are smaller so dont fit - check your pm though
